When the Marysville Getchell High School band starts to play, you can feel it—energy, pride, and a sense of community that reaches everyone in the stands. But what happens in the band room (and on the field) is about much more than music.
The Green & Gold Booster Club is proud to support our band because we know the benefits last a lifetime—for every student, not just future musicians.
1. Music Builds Teamwork
Every performance depends on listening, timing, and supporting one another.
Just like in sports, every band member plays a role that matters—whether it’s the lead trumpet or the last cymbal crash.
2. Music Strengthens the Brain
Studies show that playing an instrument improves memory, attention, and problem-solving skills.
Students who participate in music often see better academic performance across all subjects.
3. Music Boosts Confidence
Performing in front of a crowd helps students grow self-assurance.
Band members learn how to handle mistakes gracefully and keep going under pressure.
4. Music Builds Community
From pep rallies to Disneyland performances, the MGHS Band bring spirit and excitement to everything they do.
They’re often the heartbeat of school pride—reminding us we’re all Chargers.
💚💛 Whether your student plays an instrument or not, supporting the band is supporting MGHS’s spirit, unity, and tradition.
Next time you hear those first notes of the fight song, take a moment to cheer for the students making it happen—you’ll see why we’re so proud.
