Starting high school at Marysville Getchell is exciting, but let’s be real—it can also feel overwhelming. New schedules, new teachers, bigger hallways, and a whole new world of opportunities. And it’s not just the students—parents are learning the ropes, too!
The Green & Gold Booster Club wants you to know: you’re not alone, and you’ve got a community here to help you thrive.
1. Start Small, Stay Steady
Focus on getting to class on time, learning your teachers’ expectations, and figuring out your daily routine.
Don’t try to master everything in the first week—high school is a marathon, not a sprint.
2. Get Involved
Join a sport, band, club, or activity that interests you—it’s the fastest way to make friends and feel part of the MGHS community.
Parents—encourage your student to try new things, even if they’re nervous.
3. Build Good Habits Early
Stay on top of assignments and ask for help when you need it.
Use a planner or digital calendar to keep track of homework, practices, and events.
Parents—check Skyward regularly to stay in the loop.
4. Explore the Support Around You
Teachers, counselors, coaches, and club advisors all want to see students succeed.
The Green & Gold Booster Club is here to support athletics, music, and school-wide events—meaning we’re cheering for every student at MGHS.
5. Give Yourself Grace
Mistakes happen—schedules get mixed up, and sometimes you take the long way to class. It’s all part of the learning curve.
Every senior you see walking the halls once stood right where you are now.
💚💛 Freshmen, welcome to MGHS—you’re part of the Charger family now. Parents, welcome to the journey. The Boosters are here to make high school a place where your student can learn, grow, and belong.
